Hi, these flowers are called "Bird of Paradise" here in Western Australia, are they called the same there. Great macro shot, love the DOF and the flower stands proud.

I have a Bird of Paradise that I've had for years, and never can get a bloom. I guess there is too much shade in my yard. Maybe I'll show it your photo and say this is what you should do! ;-)
